Do not stigmatize and brag

.

INTRODUCTION

February 14, 2021 —Lv 13,1-2.45-46 and Mc 1,40-45 are read. Jesus does not want a man tell about his being cured of leprosy. I learned about leprosy how these people were stigmatized and how important it is to not stigmatize and brag.
It is sad to see that the Vatican does not allow deaf people to follow the message of the Pope in his Angelus. The Vatican isolates deaf people like the Jews once did with people with leprosy.

This Sunday I could not record Pope Francis Angelus. My browser freezed. I looked for his speech in the Vatican channel. to record it from there to add subtitles. But they have made it impossible to add subtitles having a speaker talking English over the Popes Italian speech.
The Vatican seems to have no interest at all, helping deaf people, to follow the Angelus. it is a very egoistic and hypocritical attitude.

Lv 13,45-46 says:

The LORD spoke to Moses and said, “Consecrate to me every first-born that opens the womb among the Israelites, both of man and beast, for it belongs to me.”
40 “When a man loses the hair of his head, he is not unclean merely because of his bald crown.
41 So too, if he loses the hair on the front of his head, he is not unclean merely because of his bald forehead.
42 But when there is a pink sore on his bald crown or bald forehead, it is leprosy that is breaking out there.
43 The priest shall examine him; and if the scab on the sore of the bald spot has the same pink appearance as that of skin leprosy of the fleshy part of the body,
44 the man is leprous and unclean, and the priest shall declare him unclean by reason of the sore on his head.
45 “The one who bears the sore of leprosy shall keep his garments rent and his head bare, and shall muffle his beard; he shall cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean!’

and Mc 1,40-45 says:

1:40 A leper came to him, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, “If you want to, you can make me clean.”
1:41 Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.”
1:42 When he had said this, immediately leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean.
1:43 He strictly warned him, and immediately sent him out, 1:44 and said to him, “See you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”
1:45 But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places: and they came to him from everywhere.

The message

Leviticus 13:44 the man is leprous and unclean, and the priest shall declare him unclean by reason of the sore on his head.
13:45 “The one who bears the sore of leprosy shall keep his garments rent and his head bare, and shall muffle his beard; he shall cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean!’
At Jesus time a man with leprosy was regarded as unclean. Despite this, Leprosy spread anyway,

Leprosy, also known as Hansen’s disease (HD), is a long-term infection by the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae or Mycobacterium lepromatosis. Infection can lead to damage of the nerves, respiratory tract, skin, and eyes. This nerve damage may result in a lack of ability to feel pain, which can lead to the loss of parts of a person’s extremities from repeated injuries or infection due to unnoticed wounds… The Bacillus Calmette–Guérin (BCG) vaccine offers a variable amount of protection against leprosy…
Efforts to reduce discrimination and improve the stigma surrounding leprosy may help improve outcomes for people with leprosy.( Wiki )

1:41 Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.”

Jesus made something important to reduce discrimination of people with leprosy that following Leviticus isolated these.

About Jesus miracle

I wonder how Jesus or God could make the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae or Mycobacterium lepromatosis die and disappear as well as repairing the damaged nerves and skin and maybe give lost extremities like fingers back.

I am doubtful about these incredible and distracting stories. That Jesus maybe made miracles is not the most important fact about Jesus. The most important is Jesus’ teaching.
Here we learn that we must not discriminate, stigmatize people and boast about our own success and achievements.
