Great Recycling

The European Union ordered Italy on 31th of january, to clean up Naples within a month or face legal action.  A EU commission is in Naple today to look at the waste crisis situation. The bad and sometime corrupted public administrations of several cities in south Italy, gives Italy a very unjust and unbalanced reputation. Life in Italy is not always like in Naple.

There are many Italian cities that have a EU acknowledged waste management were the citizens do even more than the required minimum of 40% waste recicling. And several towns have done good recycling since 1994. There is an Italian list about the best recycling cities to be found at www.rifiutinforma.it. One example is the town of Novara that actually recycle 68% of the wastes.

Laundry detergentsAlmost 90% of the wastes are unnecessary containers made only for efficient transport and publicity. One example are those plastic bottles containing liquid laundry detergents.  Sweden that is regarded internationally to be on the frontier in recycling, has not gone so far as Torino in north Italy. They are trying a detergent “fuel” selfservice. Click on the photos below.
