Italian Ethic Code for Politicians

The New Democratic Party (PD) of Walter Veltroni has an ethic code  (1)  were the politicians agree that the Italian Constitution as well as the Italian laws are to be followed (”rispetto doveroso delle leggi“). According to the code all politicians of the Democratic Party must leave their ordinary works if these interfere somehow with their political functions.  Read the code in Italian to get more details. There is a also Comity created to check that the rules will be followed.

The Italians are not allowed according to the Porcellum Law (the Dirty Law) to decide the names of the politicians represented in the parties. Look at the ballot 2006 for the Italian Senate election that doesn’t give any candidate name options.

Scheda Elettorale

As especcially young Italians don’t want to buy the “party solutions”, as they want to decide who they give their vote to, the ethical code of PD looks as a good answer to the Porcellum Law and a sane move forward. To not make a similar move or not to clean up the corruption and unlawnes in the parties.

Antonio Albanese makes very good irony in this RAI 3 cabaret, about a typhical corrupted politician (”Accept Anyone”) loving Spumante and his “Must Be With Old Italian Men” school age veline. He sells without any shame, positions in public administrations in exchange for votes, a normal criminal practice around Neaple and in South Italy.

The 13:th of april, it’s up to the Italians to show what they really think and want. I hope they all will vote, doing their best to give some dignity to Italian politics. I hope the young Italians wont stay home and “Accept Anyone” as a protest. As there will be those who will “Accept Anyone” for a favour.
