Danuta Hübner, a naive Polish European Commissioner met recently Totò Cuffaro (1) who convinced her that there are no crimes or fraud of European fundings in South Italy. Bravo Cuffaro! She said:

“We mustn’t give a negative image of the use of European funding in Italy, given that in most Regions of the South there is anyway noticeable progress in the reduction of inequalities. We have a monitoring system that is really very evolved at the level of Regional funding, Member States, European Commission and Court of Accounts. When these irregularities are actually identified there is a system that has been really well tested that involves even the interruption of the flow of funds. I would not say that Italy is one of those member States that is far from the average situation.” (Link)

The European Union should not give economic support to Italy until Italy gets a clean Italian Government and a working jurisdiction. The Italian Government is involved in “swindles to the detriment of the European Union“. The Italian Magistrate Luigi de Magistris who had the name of the Ministre of Justice, Clemente Mastella, in his investigation was removed from the investigation by the same Ministre of Justice.
